Obedience Training

At The Kennels at Gum Gully, we believe obedience is the foundation to a respectful and loving relationship with you and your dog. Without foundational obedience skills, we feel that you and your dog miss out on so much opportunity to truly life life to the fullest with one another. Our obedience program has been highly successful, and a true joy to run. An evaluation may be required to reserve a spot in the program. Please call the office and ask to speak to or leave a message for Lauren to discuss training opportunities. We are currently focusing on small working breeds or larger dogs. Small, low-drive, companion breeds are not our specialty.

Board and Train Packages

Obedience Training

General Obedience

$2,700

8 Week Board and Train Program
4 Required Family sessions (45 min each, typically scheduled Monday-Friday)
Commands taught: Sit, Down, Here, Heel, Place (stay is implied)
Troubleshooting of existing problems (jumping, barking, etc.)
All commands on and off-leash with the e-collar
PLEASE NOTE- the purchase of an e-collar will be the clients responsibility before the dog goes home. We are happy to recommend collars and encourage high-quality products. Prices range $150-200 for e-collars.

LEash Obedience

$1,500

4 Week Board and Train Program
2 Required Family sessions (45 min each, typically scheduled Monday-Friday, 1 during the course and 1 at pickup/graduation)
Commands taught: ON LEAD-Sit, Down, Here, Heel, Place (stay is implied)
Troubleshooting of existing problems (jumping, barking, etc.)
All commands practiced on lead, in a controlled environment.

A successful training candidate...

In order for us to be successful with your dog we ask a few things...

That your dog respond to and know it's name
That your dog has worn a collar or leash (pulling or being unruly is fine)
That your dog is comfortable in a normal household/backyard
That your dog has bonded with your family and is accepting of human interaction
